Aileen Cheatham
Trip Host - Caminos
Hello! My name is Aileen and my passion is self-development.
My inner journey began as a young teen when my mother introduced me to the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, sparking a lifelong interest in metaphysics and inner growth. In my mid-twenties, I became a student of A Course in Miracles — a self-study course centered on the practice of forgiveness. I studied the Course for over 20 years with my beloved teacher, Dr. Kenneth Wapnick.
I believe that how we experience the world is directly connected to the thoughts and beliefs we hold about it. In 2007, I discovered The Work of Byron Katie, and within a short time of practicing it, I began to feel more relaxed, open, tolerant, and deeply connected to both myself and others.
My desire to support others on their own journeys led me to become a Certified Facilitator for The Work of Byron Katie. For the past 14 years, I’ve shared this simple yet transformational method of self-inquiry, offering workshops across the U.S., Mexico, Europe, South America, and Africa.
In 2021, I walked the Camino de Santiago in its entirety over the course of five weeks. Starting in St. Jean, at the foothills of the Pyrenees, I wasn’t entirely sure what had drawn me to the Camino. But as I walked, I discovered my calling as a listener to fellow travelers, and I shared the power of The Work with those who asked to be facilitated.
I speak English, French, and Spanish fluently and have traveled extensively — especially throughout Europe and South America. I'm excited to share my love of inner growth and soulful travel with the women journeying with Honest Heart Journeys!
