Hello, I’m Kathy!

I’m an art psychotherapist, IFS Level One trained therapist and 1,000-hour Kaiut Yoga teacher who has spent several decades exploring the territory of personal growth, transformation, creativity, and what it means to live a meaningful life.

Originally from Britain, I lived for more than 23 years in the Findhorn Foundation community in Scotland, an experience that deeply shaped my relationship with spirituality, nature, community, and the mysterious business of being human. I now live on Vancouver Island with my husband, Michael, where I work part-time with a small roster of private clients and continue to explore the many paths that lead us home to ourselves.

My journey with The Work of Byron Katie began in 1999, when I first encountered The Work and immediately recognised something in it that has stayed with me ever since. I’ve been practising, facilitating, and sharing The Work for more than 25 years. I currently co-host Camp for The Work in the Pacific Northwest each summer, bringing together my love of inquiry, community, play, and deep conversation.

And then there is walking.

I’ve walked the Camino with Honest Heart Journeys and discovered that I love the particular combination of sore feet, beautiful landscapes, unexpected conversations, simplicity, laughter, and the occasional existential crisis that seems to accompany a long pilgrimage. After experiencing the Camino as a traveller with HHJ, I’m delighted to now return as a host and share the journey with others.

When I’m not walking, I can usually be found somewhere in nature, dancing, practising yoga, making something, pondering the mysteries of life, or following some new thread of curiosity down a rabbit hole. I’ve spent many years exploring movement practices like Five Rhythms and Open Floor, and I believe that sometimes the body knows things long before the mind catches up.

I’m married, have two much-loved adult children, and am increasingly enjoying the strange and wonderful territory of my crone years. My witchy ways are developing nicely.

I love wilderness, creativity, dance, honest inquiry, good stories, deep conversations, and the ongoing adventure of seeking the truth. I don’t claim to have it all figured out. In fact, I rather suspect that not having it all figured out is part of the fun.

I’m very happy to be walking the Camino again, and even happier to be walking it with others!
